I didn't hit my launch deadline
and I'm okay with that
It’s been a long slog over the winter working on Book 2.
Polishing
Perfecting
Pre-reading
Did I tell you how much I like writing and dislike editing? I know it’s necessary, but boy is it tedious. Working with my editor has been fun and frustrating. She is nearly always right. And those who know me, know that I don’t like to be wrong.
And I’m so happy that I listened to her and took the time to polish, perfect, and pre-read (multiple times). I’m really pleased with how Book 2: Dark Side of the Veil turned out.
I redesigned the book covers (also based on her feedback…hmmm, I’m seeing a pattern here) and created a glossary for both books. So I’m relaunching Book 1 as a second edition and launching Book 2 (imminently).
Feel free to leave any comments on the cover design (No, there was no AI used in the design or in my writing). The cover was created by the incredibly talented Jamie Noble of ‘The Noble Artist’. And my writing comes from my own imagination with the assistance and keen eye of an amazing editor, Lisa Edwards, who I hired through Reedsy.
Book 2 takes a darker turn - hence the name. Bex is lost in a greasy mechanical world where she fears for her friends lives and the growing Rysyn energy within her. She must learn to temper her impulsive nature as the consequences can be devastating. She also makes some new friends (whom I will introduce in another post) who prove their loyalty despite their strange appearances.
If you haven’t read book 1: The Edge of Oblivion, now is your chance to start the adventure that begins when Bex and her friends leave their mundane desert world of Anckesh in search of the truth behind Xan Janal’s fantastical tales. They unwittingly become embroiled in a dangerous adventure that could alter the fate of multiple worlds. (new cover design in progress)
Now back to working on the launch of Book 2 so I can then get started on Book 3: Pierce the Veil.

Thank you for sticking with me while I’ve worked through all the twists and turns of Bex’s adventure. There are more to come.
