It's been a long journey
The excitement is building
I’ve been very quiet on all my social media lately. Well, really for far too long. My focus has been on finalising Book 1 of The Lesitha Veil Tales. And all the hard work, missed Sunday roasts, late night editing sessions, neglecting the dog, rewriting, sweating, crying, pounding my fists, has paid off. Ok, maybe it wasn’t that bad, but it sure felt like it and I did miss a few Sunday roast dinners at the pub with family.
I’m happy to say that it’s finally here - almost. I’ve uploaded my manuscript to the Amazon KDP publishing platform. The engines of Amazon are now pilfering through my manuscript determining if it is worthy of publishing. I did find it funny when the ebook preview came back with 90 misspelled words. All of which were correct in my made up fantasy world.
If all goes well, the launch date is set for 9 May! Then the hard work begins of marketing. Which, of course requires me to be more active on social media platforms. Something I’m sure you’ve guessed, I’m not that great at. Blowing my own horn, shouting from the rooftops, dancing on the tables (ok, I admit, I did that once) just to get attention is not something that comes naturally for me.
I don’t expect to be a number one bestseller (although I’d be over the moon if it happened) and the first time I get an organic sale, I’m sure I’ll cry tears of joy. Reviews will be the hardest because I want everyone to love my story. I want people to fall in love with Bex and cheer her on, even when she’s doing something stupid. My biggest hope is that readers will enjoy the adventure and want to read the next one (which is currently in the works). What happens if someone posts a comment that says its crap? Even though I know in my heart it’s not - it will still hurt, and I’ll get over it.
I write to tell stories, to entertain and to share my love of adventure and imagination. I have no delusion that I can please everyone. I can only hope that at least a few of you will enjoy Bex’s story and post a review on Amazon to let others know how much you enjoyed my book.
Stay tuned for the official notice of the launch - I’ll have special pricing for the first few days so you can grab your copy or download the epub and find out what happens to Bex.

I am so excited with you, my friend! As you know, Bex is one of my favourite characters ever and I know I'm going to love the whole book when I get to read it. And yes, you did it! You have every right and every "write" to shout from the rooftops and dance on the tables. You are publishing your book and that's a great reason to celebrate. XX
